Twilight franchise plans to continue giving famous monsters a new spin for a new generation

We here at New Studies Show were able to get in contact with an uncredited artist who has been working on concept drawings and storyboards for the film. He agreed to give us an exclusive interview as long as we kept his identity a secret.

NSS: In the first two Twilight films, we saw some things that broke long-standing Horror conventions: Vampires that could go out during the day and Werewolves who could transform not only at will, but independently of the lunar cycle. Why was this decision made?

Artist: Well if you think about it, those types of monsters have been appearing on film for about 100 years, and in that time almost nothing has changed about them. People today still like the idea of them, but when you're working within the very limited confines of when / what / how they can and cannot do things … it's hard to evolve the legend and present it in an exciting way to new audiences.

NSS: When we first talked, you hinted that there may be more "famous monsters" entering the series as of Breaking Dawn. Can you elaborate on that?

Artist: Without giving away too much, there is going to be a new character entering the main cast in Breaking Dawn. He is a transfer student from Egypt who gets WRAPPED UP in the plot from an early point, if you catch my drift.
